• Just as I desired when we newly moved to The Philippines, I established a small publishing company which is presently a comfortable, huge office that occupies the upper side of a three-storey building. In the beginning, obtaining the building wasn’t difficult, neither was furnishing it. I didn’t struggle with sourcing an alliance with a trustworthy printing press either. The ones I found were very ready to work with me.
• But hiring staff was the knife that caused the early days of my business to suffer. On the day I was meant to interview potential staff, only two people showed up. Though those two have diligently stuck with the company since then, I always found myself wishing for more helping hands.
