Chapter 29
- "You're a bitch and I love you." I tell her and she laughs. I know she's right. Why thank you. Shall we practice some more?" She smirks and I laugh shaking my head. "I'm beat and seriously starving. Lets head back." I grin at her and she nods before taking my hand and we began walking back to the pack house, talking about idea for a new pack house that is desperately needed.
- We reached the pack house and I rush to the kitchen, grabbing an apple and literally devouring it before grabbing another. I am starving, I didn't eat breakfast and all my energy has been sucked out of me due to last nights activities and this morning's as well. I grin into my second apple. I can't believe I was able to create something so beautiful, that I can control something so beautiful: Winter. That's how it feels anyway. Rebekah just smirks at me. I was about to say something but her eyes turned sad and I watched her body slum. "What's wrong?" I mouth to her. "Joel and Tamara are coming down." she says, her voice a sad whisper as she reached my side. Just then Joel comes down the stairs, Tamara clinging to his hip as they laugh about something. I roll my eyes. He's my best friend yes, but he's hurting my best friend. How can I not be mad at him. "Hey! How're you guys?" She asks us grinning. Joel wraps his arm around her. "We're fine. Thanks." Bekah snaps crossing her arms and I see Tamara flinch. I want to mouth at her to stay calm but everyone would see. C'mon Bek, keep your cool.
- "Rebekah, I don't understand what I did to you for you to treat me like this." She says frowning. "You didn't do anything." She says with purses lips, her attempt at staying calm. I sigh. "Bekah, talk to me." Tamara reaches out and grabs Rebekahs hand. She gasps and naturally we all look at her funny, even. "I didn't..." Tamara trails off. "Are you okay?" He asks her, clearly concerned. She ignores him and walks toward Rebekah, pulling her aside a bit. I don't make a move to get closer. I see Rebekah frown and I see Tamara touch her shoulder. I only catch one sentence, very faintly, "I know he's your mate." She turns away and walks toward Joel with sad eyes. She pulls him toward the living room, far out of our sight. As rude as it is, I use my heightened hearing to ease drop. "Joel, I don't think we're working out. Please understand, something changed for me. I'm sorry." She tells him and pecks his cheek before rushing upstairs I assume. Bekah and I stand in the kitchen in silence for a few moments, no idea what to say. I don't even know what to start. "What just happened?" I mutter still confused. Rebekah looks at me with sad eyes. "She knows. Somehow, Tamara knows that Joel is my mate." She states in a whisper and I gasp. Holy shit. "I don't understand how the hell she just knew all of a sudden. Am I that obvious? Is Joel really just stupidly blind?" She rants lowly to me and I frown, holding her to my side. "Men are confusing." I state and she nods.
