• “How is it that she is allowed in our midst?" One of my roommates, Penelope, questioned.
• She and the other one, Emily, had been at it all evening when we returned to the room after a long day's work. They no doubt felt bored and saw me as a means of entertainment. They were insulting me and calling me names for being a half-breed. I thought my birth pack was the only one with an extreme hatred for half-breeds. I didn't realize I walked into a dead end all by myself.
