Chapter 6 Feeling Irritated

  • (Gabriel)
  • "So, how were the meetings?" Dad asked with a smirk on his face that I would like to be able to wipe off. It irritated me so much that I couldn't stop myself from reaching for a cigarette and lighting it in front of him. He scowled at me and shook his head, I smiled knowing that it got to him so much.
  • "There's something I can't stop myself from thinking about. That Marston guy isn't an alpha, right? You planted him there just to make a fool of me." I replied. He started to look everywhere but at me, letting me know that I was right.
  • "Dad, what the hell?" I asked, annoyed that he had been trying to play me for a fool.
  • "It was only to see if you were doing a good job. He told me that you are a tough guy and he had to act tough so that he didn't run like some coward. I'm proud that you handled the meetings so well, you were born for this job." of course I was, but I wasn't going to stick to it like some pussy. I had my club to run, I can't see myself sitting in an office doing paperwork. It's just not my thing.
  • "I'm heading out now, is there anything else you want me to do?" I asked while taking a puff of my cigarette. I blew the smoke through my nostrils, which seems to disgust Dad because of the look on his face.
  • "Not for now, you have handled everything so far. Since you want to take this seriously, should I go ahead and plan the ceremony?" By ceremony, he meant me officially taking over as Alpha. I shook my head, not wanting to be a part of that. Dad sensed it and sighed.
  • "When are you and your brother going to step up? It's getting frustrating." Dad said and for once I felt bad but I didn't comment on it.
  • "I told you that I was going to come here often to help out, that does not mean that I want to be Alpha. Take what you get for now dad, I'm not giving up my club to take care of a bunch of people." I started walking away when Dad stopped me.
  • "One day, you'll change your mind and I will laugh at you. I will laugh at you and Ashton when you both realize that you're making a mistake." I waved him off and left, I guess now wasn't the right time to tell him that I found my mate. When I arrived outside, I got on my motorcycle and was about to start it when a scent hit me so strongly, I almost tumbled to the ground. I started looking around frantically and that's when I spotted her, my mate. Alaric was panting in my head, wanting out but I couldn't do it just yet. I'm a fool for not running to her and making her mine, I've been waiting so long for my mate and now she's finally here. I just have a problem with her being a human, I don't even know where to start or how to act on that. She won't be able to feel our connection, she won't be able to tell that we are mates unless she knows about us. I could be wrong and she might accept me without a fight, but I'm going with my guts. I'm going to wait until the time is right to tell her, as much as I can't wait. After riding for a while, I made it back to my club where I spotted Blake talking to Slade. Slade had an angry look on his face, while he had his arms folded. I chuckled and shook my head as I made my way towards them.
  • "Stop treating me like a fucking child." Slade snapped at Blake who acted unfazed by his attitude.
  • "I'm only looking out for you, you need to tone your temper down a bit," Blake replied, which made Slade angrier.
  • "How about I take it out on you instead?" Slade replied while getting in Blake's face. I decided to break it up since I didn't feel like getting in the middle while trying to stop them from fighting. "Ok that's it, break it up. You two are acting like spoiled brats." I said as I stood next to them. They glared at each other for a moment, before backing down. Slade walked away and Blake breathed a sigh of relief.
  • "Fucker's getting scarier by the minute. Do you have anything I can use on him to get him to calm his ass down?" I raised my eyebrow at him, wondering if he was serious or not. But that was a mystery I was yet to solve.
  • "You're back soon, you didn't tell me where you were heading." I gestured for Blake to follow me as I made my way toward the bar in desperate need of a drink.
  • "Had to check on my family, it's annoying I know but I had no other choice," I replied. I ordered two shots of tequila and downed them the moment I got them.
  • "You know what's strange? I've never seen you drunk before and you're always drinking." I turned and smirked at Blake if only he knew. "What happened while I was away?" I asked, wanting to find out who I have to kill. After Blake ordered his drink, he started to talk.
  • "Viktor checked in, demanding that we give up the club for a price. Slade put a bullet in his head. I dragged him away before he could murder anyone else, so that's why you heard me telling him that he needs to tone his temper down a bit. Olivia is here, saying she's going to dance." I punched the counter, not liking what I was hearing.
  • "Olivia is supposed to do hair and makeup, she is not allowed to dance ever! I'm going to go and talk some sense into her." I walked away before he could reply. Do I have to babysit everyone? What the fuck is wrong with them?
