Chapter 4 So What If You Are My Girlfriend

• So what if you are my girlfriend.
• Chi An did as he said. Even though he acted like a model boyfriend by taking her to school to settle her graduation matters and acted like a loving couple in front of everyone, he would let her hand go in disgust once nobody was watching. Nor would he even look at her.
• Mu Shiyu didn't know how to deal with this emotional abuse. She wanted to break up with him, since that was better than them hurting each other now, but Chi An refused. In the next few weeks, Mu Shiyu stayed at her best friend, Xia Rourou's house. She had never returned to the Mu residence even once.
• She was still tormented by her nightmares as usual tonight, but then Mu Shiyu was woken up by her phone. When she opened it, she saw that it was Chi An's message for her after he had come out from an entertainment center. 'My cousin is going to have a birthday party tomorrow. Dress up for it.'
• Mu Shiyu sighed. How did we get to this?
• On the next night, Chi An came to pick her up on time. Mu Shiyu's hair was tied up in a bun, with a few strands of hair by side of her ears framing her face nicely. She was wearing a light-green dress tonight. She didn't look too outstanding when coupled with her fair, lovely skin, but she looked gentle and clean enough. Chi An was surprised, but then he immediately felt disgusted.
• Chi An's cousin was the eldest daughter of Gu Group, one of the top noble families in A City. Not only did her parents come from rich and famous families, they were also honorary professors hired by world-class research centers. They spent their lives in research, so they only had one daughter—Gu Nianwen.
• The thing that made Gu Nianwen famous throughout A City was the news of her engagement with the heir of Huo Family—Huo Qian. Even though Gu Nianwen came from a rich family, marrying into the Huo Family and being the young madam there was still an honor for her.
• Mu Shiyu came into the villa holding Chi An's arm. The banquet hall in the top floor was filled with dazzling lights, accentuating the delicate dishes on the tables, as well as the guests who attended this party.
• The hall was already crowded at this moment, and it was filled with the sounds of people talking.
• Within the hall, a man stood arrogantly. Gu Nianwen was wearing a cocktail dress that showed off her back today. She had beautiful makeup on tonight, so everyone looked at her in astonishment, much to her delight. As she slowly walked down, the woman started chatting with her friends.
• The one beside her was Kang Cier, also a famous person among the rich ladies. She had an innocent look, but a smoking hot body that attracted many eyes. The bored Kang Cier started looking around, and her eyes shone when she saw Chi An by the door. “Hey, Wen, that's Young Master Chi!”
• Gu Nianwen looked in Chi An's direction, then she smiled. “What? Still trying to woo my cousin? He has a partner today, see?”
• “Hmph, that's just his partner. So what? I'm not even scared even if that's his girlfriend.” Kang Cier then whispered something to her, and the pair beamed before coming over.
• “You came just in time, An.” Gu Nianwen smiled, then she pointed at Kang Cier. “Cier told me that she just got a moonstone. She said it's really pretty under the moonlight, so now she's asking you take a look with her.”
• Kang Cier smiled gently and blinked at Chi An. It wasn't as if she hadn't teased Chi An before, but he usually didn't care about it, or he just pretended not to understand. However, Chi An smiled at her today. “No matter how pretty it is, it can't beat the Kiss of Sky that President Huo gave you. That thing costs 1.8 billion.”
• Last month, the famous sapphire necklace, Kiss of Sky was bought by the Huo Group in an auction as a gift for Gu Nianwen. It was hanging before her chest tonight, shining beautifully. Gu Nianwen then smiled shyly, but she also looked at the door, disgruntled. “He isn't here yet. The dance is going to start soon.”
• Chi An pulled his arm out and told the ignored Mu Shiyu coldly, “Stay here. I'll be going for a bit.”
• Mu Shiyu kept quiet for a moment, then she looked down. “Yes.”
• Kang Cier and Gu Nianwen looked at each other in surprise, then the former quickly went up to hold Chi An's arm closely before leaving. When Mu Shiyu looked up at them leaving like a couple, pain appeared in her eyes.
• “You're An's girlfriend? You look familiar.” Gu Nianwen raised her chin arrogantly as she looked at the pensive Mu Shiyu.
• If Mu Shiyu said yes, then Gu Nianwen would tell her that a lowly peasant like Mu Shiyu was unworthy to be a part of the Chi family.
• Mu Shiyu turned around to look at her. “I am just Young Master Chi's partner.” She smiled.
• The moment she turned around, Gu Nianwen was stunned. She saw that Mu Shiyu only had light makeup on her already clean, delicate face. Her eyes were as if they were sculpted, while her hair was elegantly braided with a white hairpin. She looked like a noble, vivacious woman. Even though Gu Nianwen was a woman, she fell into a trance. She's really gorgeous. Her features were delicate, her vibe noble and attractive.
• Gu Nianwen felt uneasy and jealous, but then she calmed herself down. So what if she's pretty? A peasant like her could never enter our circle. The most she can be is the rich men's toy. That's all she amounts to.
• Gu Nianwen nodded perfunctorily, then she attended to the other guests. Mu Shiyu, on the other hand, pushed down her sorrow, then she took a glass of drink and stood at a corner quietly. As she observed the resplendent surroundings, it was as if she was hypnotized. These glaze lights look familiar. Mu Shiyu was attracted by the glaze lights around her, and she was surprised. They really do look familiar, but these are expensive. Where had I seen it before?
• When she was about to take a look, a blackout suddenly happened, plunging the whole villa into darkness. A moment of silence ensued, then replaced by the sounds of commotion and screams.
• Chi An was kissing Kang Cier passionately at the balcony, but now he stopped. When he frowned at the hall, all he saw was darkness.
• A blackout. Chi An knew Mu Shiyu had nyctophobia. When they were on their first date, he didn't know she was afraid of the dark, so she ended up clutching his hands and trembling with her eyes closed during the movie. As he reminisced the past, Chi An reflexively let Kang Cier go and was about to search for Mu Shiyu in the hall. She must be scared now.
• However, Kang Cier caught his shoulder before he could walk away. Shyly, she said, “Let's take this to my room, Young Master Chi.” She was best friends with Gu Nianwen, so there was a room for her in the Gu villa.
• As a man, Chi An knew what she was thinking. “My partner is still inside.” He frowned in frustration, but he didn't reject the offer outright.
• Kang Cier didn't think that much, so she chuckled. Even though the woman earlier was gorgeous, they could see that Chi An was distant toward her, or else Kang Cier would have failed to get Chi An.
• “Get a maid to tell her to go back.” She answered quickly while leaning against his sturdy chest.
• Chi An looked at the hall, but all he could think of was the hickeys on Mu Shiyu's neck that day. That pained his heart, so he smiled bitterly, though no one could see it in the darkness. “Sure.”
• Is it a blackout, or a trip? Mu Shiyu hugged herself in fear once darkness descended, and she trembled. The woman bit her lip in an effort to hold her scream in.
• The hall became more raucous, filled with the laughter or gasps of the guests. It was obvious that they weren't afraid. Most only thought this was fresh and exciting.
• Where is Chi An? Mu Shiyu looked around her, but she could see nothing. All she saw was the darkness.
