Chapter 26

• “When is your mom coming?” I spoke through the phone as I kept typing down an email to my boss saying I wouldn’t be available for a week. Jake had booked an entire island for their wedding and I desperately wanted a vacation for myself. They couldn’t wait to get married as soon as Ashley was back on her feet. We were busying planning for the wedding for the past few weeks. Of course, I took care of everything since she was still nursing and we were both glad that her mom was flying down to take care of Jane.
• “Early morning around five I guess,” she breathed out and I could hear Jane crying in the background.
• “I wish I could come over sooner to babysit, Ash but I’m stuck with work and I need to catch up as much as possible so that I can be free from tomorrow,” I sighed as I hit send.
