• Excitement flares through me as I obediently climb off the bed, standing at the foot of it while Vance watches me with dark, hungry eyes. I didn’t know what was wrong with me since I should be against this and trying to kill the vampire in front of me, but when I looked at him, all I could feel was the desperate need to please him and do as he wanted.
• It was like my only mission in life was to make this man feel good, and that both excited and unnerved me.
