Chapter 37

• The phone dropped from her hand to the bed and her heart dropped to her stomach. What was the reason he was calling her? She did not want to make any assumptions so she picked up and put the phone to her ear.
• "I hope I am not disrupting your work?" he asked. His voice was gentle and quiet. She wanted to close her eyes and hear him speak for a long while.
• "No" she answered sharply and regretted it immediately. Her answer made it seem as if she was at war with him.
