Chapter 894 The Truth
- Only after being barked at by Jackson did Evelyn come to her senses. She lost her temper in a fit of rage just now, but her heart shuddered when she recalled what Nicole and Siobhan said moments ago. If what they said is true, then I'm William Anderson's daughter… No way! This can't be possible! If this were true, I'd be a nobody without the Wrenns and the Goulds at my back! Her face was pale, and her eyes reddened as she sniffled. Soon after that, beads of tears fell from her eyes. "Sorry, Gabriel. I-I don't know what's wrong with me. I-I'm sorry," she apologized in a panic before bursting into sobs with her hands over her face.
- Gabriel couldn't bring himself to be harsh with Evelyn. After all, he had watched her grow up since she was a little girl. Furthermore, the slap she had given him just now wasn't hard, and he was fine except for the dull ache in his cheek. "It's okay. I won't blame you for that," he replied, comforting her as he helped her sit down with both hands.
- As Evelyn sat down in her seat, she was still sobbing uncontrollably, crying so hard that she got the hiccups. After calming down a little, she turned to look at Jackson with teary eyes. Then, she bit her lip and asked pitifully, "Dad, are you guys trying to warn me in such a way because I'm willful? I understand my mistakes now, so could you please don't do this? I-I'm scared."
