He didn’t slow down, running like a madman until they reached his parked car. Once they were inside, he slammed on the gas, and the engine roared to life, speeding away from the scene.
- Half a minute later, shadows appeared where they had been, flickering in and out as they chased after the car. He pushed the car to its max, then hit autopilot. Without wasting a second, he grabbed her, jumped out, and darted off in the opposite direction.
