<p>Chapter 1 Malicious Gossips</p>

• “Are you sure? How do you know that Chu Meng is an old maid?”
• “Of course, you wouldn't know, you're just a new kid in town! This isn’t any secret in the company. Everyone knows she's old and unmarried.”
• Chu Meng had just stepped into the restroom when she overheard them eagerly gossiping on such a juicy topic.
• “Why is she still single at this age? Is it because she has no suitors? Or the problem lies with herself?”
• Chu Meng frowned.I've just turned twenty-four and you’re calling me old?
• One gossipmonger scoffed, “I heard she'd gone to every matchmaking session lately, desperate to grab any man that's available. What kind of man would want a woman like her?”
• “So, you've heard something? Quick, tell me! What's wrong with her?”
• “I heard she lost her parents since she was a kid, and she'd stayed in the orphanage for some time before her aunt took her under her wing. Those who come from such families are hardly any decent woman. How many would behave like a normal woman? Who knows, she could be one who has some kind of twisted mind or a homosexual who is just interested in women? That's why she's still single even after so many matchmaking sessions. You'd better watch out for her, Xi, she seemed affectionate to you lately, could it be she's interested in you?”
• “Oh please, stop it! It's so disgusting!”
• “Disgusting indeed!” the two gossip mongers in their respective toilet cubicles echoed in synchronization. Little did they know that the subject of their gossip was standing right outside their cubicles with her jaws clamped shut and her fists clenched.What makes them think I'm horny when all I did was just to show a little friendliness to the new colleague? Don't these women have anything better to do than gossip mongers?
• Luo Xi and Chen Li were still chucking when they came out of the toilet cubicles. What greeted their smiling eyes was the last person they'd expected to see - Chu Meng was grinning at them with folded arms.
• “Qi, it's Chu Meng...”
• Chu Meng's grin was full of radiance as she feigned a surprised look. “Oh, you guys are here? What a coincidence!”
• “Y-Yes...But we've finished now, we've got to go...”
• Chu Meng nodded and waved to them. “See you later, take care!”Bang! Bang! Just when they were trying to leave hurriedly, Luo Xi and Chen Li slipped and fell to the floor with a loud bang and landed with their back on the floor. Their six-inch high heels came off their feet and dangled on their toes as if it was mocking at them. “Which idiot poured soap at the entrance?” Chen Li wailed.
• “Oh dear! Are you okay? I've told you to take care, didn't I? Now look at the both of you, are you hurt?” Chu Meng stared down at the two of them who were writhing and moaning in pain. “That's what happens when you walk too fast. The same goes to your mouth. You could bite your tongue if you talked too much and too fast!” scorned Chu Meng.Why do they have to say such revolting things about me? Just because I'm single and not dating anyone? But what has it got to do with them?
• Feeling miserable, she hopped on the bar stool and took a few sips of wine until she felt her head starting to spin. She had forgotten what a lousy drinker she was; just a few drops could make her see stars and gibber nonsense. Her aunt had never allowed her a single drop of alcohol ever since she became her guardian. But it had been such a bad day for her, and it had completely slipped her mind.
• Her head weighed like a rock when the people around her split into multiple images. She thought of calling her good friend to take her home, but she could not seem to find her bag, though she had looked everywhere for it.Ah! I must have left it at the VIP room!Chu Meng got up to her feet drowsily and staggered towards the VIP room, her body swaying uncontrollably from one side to the other. As she tripped over something, she lost control and slammed her butt on the cold hard floor.
• Chu Meng let out a groan as her butt was burning with pain. Faces flickered across her eyes like candle flames, and she poked her fingers at each of them with a silly smile between her flushed red cheeks, “One, two, three....” Drunk as a skunk, hardly did she know that she was looking voluptuously attractive.
• Her soft and tender nape was accentuated by the black, silky hair which had been pinned into a bun. As she leaned forward sitting on the floor, a deep cleavage emerged between the tight straps on the sides of her blouse, which would make any man flush with desire. With her long, slender model-like legs exposed in the hot and sultry air, she was licking her lips unconsciously with her eyes half-closed. An erotic appeal emanated from her body which made her carnally provocative.
• Situ Han had barely stepped into the pub when saw Chu Meng sitting on the floor.
• Lascivious and seducing, coupled with the innocent and bewildered look on her face made her the angel and devil all at once, pure yet toxically charming at the same time. Such charm, however, failed to work its magic on Situ Han. He walked past without another look at her, but went straight to the bar. The bartender promptly poured some wine into his glass as soon as he sat down on the stool.
• He lifted the glass with his slender, delicate fingers and took a sip. A figure came right up to his side.
• “All by yourself? Didn't you say you're going to propose to Qiao Yunqian?”
• Situ Han lifted his eyes and glanced at the guy beaming next to him, Sheng Tiancheng - his buddy and the owner of the pub. “She rejected me.” Situ Han looked down at his glass dejectedly.
