Chapter 5
- “What’s wrong?” Ray frowned. “Why did you stop?” He turned to face me.
- I forced a smile, “It’s nothing.” I removed my hand from his. “Go ahead, there is something I need to do.”
- “What?” Ray furrowed his brows. “What do you mean?”
- “Just go ahead. There is something I need to take care of.” I turned. “See you when I return to the dorm.”
- “Do you still want to take a tour around the school? I can escort—”
- “It’s okay. Return to the dorm. I will seek you out when I’m through.”
- Ray looked like he wanted to argue more, but he nodded. “I will be waiting for you in our dorm.” He said before he turned and headed back the way we came.
- I strode towards a tree by the side of the school’s library.
- “So?” I turned to my system. “What did you just say?”
- “Storm will be here any moment from now. You need to find a way to get him to hit you, to improvise for going against the plot.” He rolled the script.
- “What a rubbish task.” I scoffed. “It seems the writer of this dumb novel is a sicko who has no job.” I angrily folded my arms.
- “Listen to me, Brys. You have to do what you were asked. You are not from this world. Your soul mistakenly got tangled with this comic. All you need to do is allow the plot of the comic to remain the same way it was, so you can return home.” Fan folded his little arms, “it’s a win-win.”
- “And what if I don’t want to return?” I smirked.
- “You need to return!” Fan wagged his fingers at me. “That’s the only way for me to rank up!”
- “Hmm.” I placed a hand under my jaw as if in deep thought. “Let’s see. When is Storm coming over?”
- “In less than a minute. He’s almost here.” Fan glanced behind me. “He’s coming.”
- “Good.” I turned, intending to make a mad dash towards the library, but I ended up colliding with the same Alpha I was trying to avoid.
- And for the second time, I found myself in the arms of Storm.
- “Watch out….. Hmm, it’s the clumsy Omega.” He sneered.
- “Seems you love the Omega word.” I pushed him off me and righted my stance. “If you so badly want to be an Omega, why don’t you turn to one?” I folded my arms.
- “That’s right, Brys! Make him so mad that he will punch you. You can do this, Brys.” Fan cheered. “Call him an Omega, I heard Alphas hate that.”
- Though I initially wanted to run from him, there was no way in hell that I will allow him to make fun of my status as an Omega.
- He tilted his head to the side. ”You are odd for an Omega.”
- “Why? Did you expect me to spin on the floor for you? Or….” I pursed my lips. “Don’t tell me you want me to bare my neck for you to sink your teeth in, mighty Alpha?” I teased.
- Storm frowned. “Odd.”
- “Peculiar is more the right word.” I turned to leave. “See you never, Alpha.” I jeered at him.
- “Brys!” Fan called out.
- The moment I took two steps away from Storm, I received my punishment.
- This time, the lash of the whip on my back was more painful than the first.
- “Fuck!”
- I fell to the ground from the severe pain.
- “What’s wrong?” I felt a hand on my back. “What happened?”
- “Fuck off!” I pushed Storm with all the power I could muster.
- He staggered while I rose from the ground. “Don’t you dare touch me with those filthy hands of yours.” I sent a glare his way before I turned and headed towards the dorm, with Fan hot on my heels.
- It has been a week since I last saw Storm. After the incident of that day, I made it my life duty to hide from the Alpha. Though, it wasn’t difficult to do that as the Alphas and Omegas study in different parts of the school.
- Most times, we don’t get to see the Alpha students aside from whenever we have communal assemblies.
- But even at that, I’ve made sure not to have a run-in with Storm.
- From my knowledge of the book, I was aware that the next meeting between Brys and Storm will be next week. That was why I agreed to go on a trip with Ray that said week. This way, I will get to circumvent the punishment.
- Fan has been on my matter throughout the week, but I never paid him any heed.
- He can scream all he wants, it won’t make me change my mind.
- I will make sure I avenge Brys.
- Crazy as that might sound, I was determined to change the plot of the story.
- “Good day, miss.”
- We greeted the survival science teacher.
- “Good morning, sweeties.” She grinned.
- Mrs Buttercup is the only teacher I admire. She’s a cute omega who’s married to the big bad Alpha headmaster. Yet, she’s so lovely that she can make you feel at ease with just a smile.
- “According to an incident that happened earlier this morning, there will be a slight change to your regular schedule.” She kept a smile on her face as she dropped her handbag on the table.
- Murmurs arose at her words.
- “Do you think it has something to do with the two teachers we caught kissing under the stairs?” Ray whispered.
- “Shut up.” I pursed my lips. “Why will it affect us? They are adults. Of course, they are entitled to have a relationship.”
- “I don’t mean that they will be punished.” Ray frowned. “Maybe they are getting mated.” He giggled.
- I rolled my eyes at him.
- My roommate is such a sucker for gossip. He lives for the thrill of one.
- “The Alphas’ buildings are under reconstruction.” Mrs Buttercup cleared her throat. “So, as a result of the unfortunate thing, the Alphas will be joining us here to study.”
- “What?”
