Chapter 4
- The first day at the Academy was just mostly moving in and getting to know your roommate.
- From the tidbit of a conversation I had with Ray, I was able to discover that he came from the same pack as Storm.
- That explained his hostility and fear.
- “Let’s go, it’s time for the evening meal.” Ray grinned. “Trust me, this will be the only good meal we will have here until the end of the year.”
- I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his words.
- There was no need for such information, as I was already aware of it.
- “Go ahead, I’m not coming with you.” My system waved me off. “I don’t think any major thing will happen tonight, since it wasn’t in the original script.”
- “What are you still stalling for?” Ray furrowed his brows at me.
- “Nothing. Let’s go.” I cast one last look at my stupid, lazy system before I followed Ray out of the room.
- Ray spoke non-stop until I wished to implore him to shut up for a bit and take a deep breath, but I couldn’t do so because I knew such harsh words might hurt the cute omega.
- Ray never appeared in the comic, so I was unaware of his backstory. The only ones I knew of were the popular ones which included Storm’s group of bullies.
- “You see when I first came here as a visiting student, it took me hours to get to the dining room. Do you know why?” Ray suddenly turned.
- “No.” I frantically shook my head.
- “That’s because the location was a bit complicated, silly.” He tried to touch my hair, but I took a step back and ended up colliding with someone.
- “I’m sorry, I didn’t see—”
- The words froze in my throat when my eyes locked with those of Theo.
- In the comic, he was in the same gang as Storm. And he was the one who bullied Brys the most, after Storm.
- “Careful, omega.”
- Though his words were okay, the tone he used was threatening. His blue eyes which were narrowed at me seemed to be sending daggers my way.
- “I’m sorry!” I turned, took Ray’s hand in mind, and dashed down the halls, with my heart beating so wildly in my throat.
- What’s happening?
- Though I intended to change the comic, it seemed it was changing on its own.
- Brys never got to meet Theo until—
- “Fuck!” I cussed when I collided with yet another student.
- I let go of Ray’s hand as I staggered a bit from the collision.
- “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
- That voice.
- No, it can’t be.
- Yet, I raised my head to look at him. And sure enough, Storm stood in front of me.
- He had changed from the clothes he wore when I met him by the gate.
- Storm was putting on a red polo which seemed to hug his entire body. The black slacks he was putting on seemed a bit tight. It made me wonder if it might tear at any slightest provocation.
- His black hair looked like something his hands ran through several times. Yet, it made him look more handsome.
- Wait a minute, what am I even thinking of?
- “Like what you see, Omega?” He smirked.
- “You wish.” I scoffed.
- Storm gave me a once-over. “Watch your steps, little Omega, you might hurt those pretty legs of yours if you don’t.” He chuckled to himself as he continued down the hall.
- “I’m not a little Omega!” I yelled.
- “Suit yourself.” He turned the corner, while I stood there fuming in anger.
- Wait until I show you what this supposed Omega is capable of.
- “Goddess!” Ray closed the distance between us. “It’s just the first day, and you managed to collide with the two mean bullies!” He glanced down the hall, scared the Alphas might return to punch a hole through our skulls.
- I shrugged. “I never asked for it. Who would have thought we weren’t the only ones in the hall?”
- Since the other students were yet to arrive at school, I believed we won’t run into any of the students, but I was wrong.
- “Come on, let’s go.” Ray glanced at the corner Storm disappeared into. “I don’t trust those two Alphas.” He took my hand in his and hurried down the halls.
- Ray and I spent the next day going on a tour around the school. My system was with me, so I had to endure a day full of chattering from both Ray and Fan *the stupid system has a name*
- As Ray couldn’t see him, there was no way for me to caution him without seeming insane.
- “From tomorrow, everywhere will be filled with students.” Ray sighed. “If only we could remain two here. I will love it.”
- “We are not two here, you Know?” I pursed my lips and folded my arms.
- “How?” His eyes widened in realization. “The Alphas?”
- “Yeah. They are still here.” I motioned with my mouth, towards the Alphas’ dorm, which was near ours.
- “I hate those monsters!” Ray scowled. “They think they are the main deal just because they were born different.”
- “I think so, too. Those damned bastards need to be taught a lesson!” I folded my arms and glared at the Alphas’ dorm.
- Ray grinned, “where have you been all my life, Brys?”
- “On Earth,” I said without further thought. I didn’t even think before I said the words.
- “Earth? Where is that? Is that the name of your pack?” Ray tilted his head to the side.
- “Oh.” I nervously chuckled. “Wow, students are coming in today.” I pointed at the three students who just entered the school compound.
- “Alphas.” Ray scoffed. “Come on, let’s return to our room.” He took my hand in his and started leading me back the way I came.
- “I love your new roommate.” Fan folded his arms. “He—” Fan paused. “Brys, you have got a mission. Hmm, that’s a first.” He mussed as he tried to keep up with us. “Don’t return to the dorm with Fan. Storm will be out in five minutes, you need to find a way to get him to hit you, to improvise for working against the plot.”
- I instantly stopped.
- What the fuck does that mean?
