Chapter 38

• I spent half of the morning with the principal because he begged me to do that. I never intended to leave Ray alone at the dorm, but getting out of the principal’s room was nothing but extra work to me. I had to find an excuse before he allowed me to leave. But not before reminding me of our evening walk.
• If only I can find a way to escape meeting him, I will. Though I will miss eating his bacon, I won’t miss him – not at all. He’s a thorn in my flesh. I won’t think twice if I’m given a way out.
