Chapter 3 Marrying The Alpha

  • “What gives you the impression that I would marry you?! I just told you I am not a virgin!" I challenged, meeting Zander's gaze with defiance but my heart fluttered in my chest, and I didn't know when I looked away to break eye contact with him as it was making me scared.
  • His hot temper was as uncontrollable as a raging fire and his beast, when given a chance, had no limit. I wouldn't want to face his wrath.
  • “I am sorry on her behalf.” My father quickly apologized and I looked up at him.
  • “I don't want to marry him.” I repeated, listening to my heart ramming against my ribcage. The man in front of me is a devil, and my life would be a hell in his castle. This was a nightmare I never imagined.
  • Why would he even agree to marry me when I just told himI wasn't a virgin?
  • Zander was silent. His indifferent expression made it hard to read what was going on in his mind.
  • My father grabbed my arm, forcefully pulling me a bit far away Alpha King, Zander Blake. I tried to free my hand, but my father's grip only tightened, leading me further away.
  • “Listen to me.” He whispered lowly. “I have a plan to make you have a baby for him. He won't even know he isn't the father. Just comply and don't worry about…”
  • “What the heck!” I snapped, wriggling my hand away from him. “I won't do that. It will be a disaster when he finds out.” I hushed, and his eyes darkened.
  • “Don't you even care about this pack at all? It will be more disastrous going against his order. He chose you, and you have no other option!”
  • "Enough of the whispers! Selena, I don't have any time left. The deal is done and sealed by your father already. Come and sign this paper to officially become my wife.” Zander's deep voice echoed, and I flinched, looking up at my father.
  • “Really?”
  • "Selena, I have decided that you have to marry the Alpha King in exchange for this alliance. You know this is the only way to save our pack. Otherwise, no one can save us from his wrath," he grumbled, his voice filled with frustration and desperation.
  • "But, Father, why me?! What have I done to die like this? You know how ruthless and heartless he is. The story of his cruelty and inhumanity is famous worldwide," I protested, trying to make him understand my fears.
  • "Selena, you are a curse on our family already, as you were born wolfless. I am ashamed to even call you my daughter. But, at least now, you're going to be useful to us. You have to marry him," he scowled, his face contorting with irritation as he looked at me.
  • My head hung low, the weight of my fate crushing down on me. I realized that my future had been decided, and there was nothing I could do to change it.
  • With tears brimming in my eyes, I moved to the table in front of Zander, staring at the paper with dread. I was about to seal my terrible fate, and there seemed to be no escape.
  • As I signed the paper, I caught a glimpse of Zander's eyes as they narrowed slightly as he smirked in amusement.
  • “Good girl. You are now officially my new wife, and I hope you don't end up like others. We are going on a dinner date in my pack tonight, Luna Selena.” He offered.
  • Before I could protest, he added. “It is not a request but a command. My order. You are to follow me home from there, so start packing up.” His icy, cold gaze bore into me, making me swallow hard.
  • But why go through the pain of a date? Just finish it already! I screamed in my heart—but I couldn’t say a word in front of the monster who was now my husband.
  • I glanced at my father, but his emotionless expression made it clear to me that I had no choice but to comply with whatever this cruel Alpha King wanted.
  • At exactly 9pm, he sent his car to pick me up for the so-called date.
  • “Be a good girl. It will save you from a lot of trouble.” Those were the only words my father could say to me as he pulled me into his embrace.
  • “Please , Father” I sobbed, looking at him with hope in my tearful eyes.
  • “This is not a time to cry. Be strong and ready for my message so we can carry out the plan. He wants a child, and you will definitely give him one. As long as he never finds out the real father, you will be safe.
  • I don’t know if he was trying to make me feel better with these words because it didn’t work a bit. Instead, it instilled more fear in me.
  • Hell will break loose when he finds out.
  • I glanced at Amelia and could see the joy and satisfaction in her face even though she was trying to feign pity.
  • Like a nightmare, I was taken away. Dressed like a newly wedded wife, just as Zander had demanded. But there won’t be any weddings or marriage ceremonies.
  • I shouldn’t be expecting that when I was just a tool to him. A mere breeder who should give him a child.
  • The drive was silent, and I was easily bored. The driver and bodyguards were all like robots programmed to follow orders. Every question I asked was replied to with silence, and not even one of them gave me a glance.
  • When we arrived at the luxury restaurant, the door was opened for me, and I was led in.
  • The unfamiliar scent of this new pack made me shook, as it was my first time being away from home. It caused fear to course down my spine.
  • But what caught my attention was their development. The tarred road, infrastructure buildings, and different kinds of technology I had never seen before.
  • Now I see why Zander was feared. He had built an empire; his pack stood out magnificent and great.
  • The restaurant was so big and I really couldn’t hold back my admiration as my eyes roamed around. But as we entered, I saw the whole place was empty and seemed to be reserved for us.
  • In the center of the room, a table sat perfectly set, glowing under soft candlelight.
  • My eyes immediately landed on him—Alpha Zander Blake. He was already sitting there, dressed in a black tuxedo that looked like it was tailored just for him.
  • I hated how unfairly handsome he looked. The cold-hearted monster looked nothing like the darkness in his heart, appearing dashing and charming.
  • “Good evening.” I mumbled, as I got close to the table.
  • He didn’t stand. Didn’t offer so much as a smile. Typical. The waiter pulled out my chair, and I sat down across from him, pretending I wasn’t the least bit impressed. The restaurant was really extravagant of it all and beautiful as though it was carefully decorated to its perfection.
  • What do I expect? I am with Zander who ruled over the entire North.
  • His countenance didn’t change and as always, he looked displeased. He always appears unsatisfied with everything but his aura made me stifle.
  • We sat in silence as the waiters took my order. He didn’t order anything and only leaned back and watched me eat, causing the tension in the air to be thick enough to cut with a knife. The soft clink of my utensils was the only sound, and it felt like every moment stretched on forever.
  • It was more like he brought me here to feed me than to have a dinner date. "Can I ask something, Alpha?" I finally broke the silence.
  • He slowly looked up from his phone, his piercing blue eyes locking onto mine with that intensity that looked so threatening and overwhelming.
  • "Go ahead," he said, his voice low and husky.
  • "Why did you still accept to marry me after I told you I wasn’t a virgin? You never give chances to non-virgins since they have lower chances of being fertile.” I mused.
  • His brows arched, and a little smirk tugged at his lips.
  • “Who took your virginity? I’m curious.” He questioned, squinting his eyes at me.
  • “Huh? My heart skipped, a sharp gasp slipping from my mouth.
  • He leaned back in the chair, folding his arms over his chest. “You heard me right.”
  • My brain went blank, and I couldn’t think of what to say. I didn’t expect him to ask this, and now I had no answer at hand. I can’t say my mate since I was unmated, and also, I am a princess, so it was almost impossible to have an unknown boyfriend.
  • “I knew you were lying.” He shrugged and leaned forward, placing his hands on the table. “Eat well because you will need enough strength for tonight.”
  • “What’s happening tonight?” I asked timidly.
  • He let out a cold, mocking chuckle.
  • “Our marking and mating ceremony,” he said, completely indifferent.
  • I gasped. It was too soon. Way too soon.
  • “I’m not ready for…” I began, my voice trailing off in shock.
  • “You are ready, sweetheart,” he interrupted, his voice cold and his gaze icy. “We need to have a child as soon as possible, and for some reason, I trust you to give me one. Don’t disappoint me. You’re beautiful enough to give me gorgeous babies.”
  • I shifted in my seat before summoning the courage to ask an important question that had been troubling me since the revelation of this arranged marriage and alliance.
  • “What if you find your fated mate while married to me?" I breathed out nervously, my heart pounding in my chest.
  • "I am twenty-five and still haven't found her," he dismissed my concern with a wave of his hand as if it was an insignificant issue.
  • "But it doesn't mean you can't find her in the future," I argued, staring at him closely.
  • His expression turned hard and cold, his calculating gaze studying me intensely for what felt like an eternity before he finally responded, "You have my word, Selena. You will always be my Luna as long as you give me an heir."
