I turned off my production which rerouted the power to the shields and turrets, but in the time it took me to do that the bombers had circled and were bombing my second heavy power generator. It also exploded and caused me even more power issues. The bombers disappeared and were replaced by what looked like a million tech 1 tanks. There were in reality probably only 100 or so, each and every one of them would have been cannon fodder for my tech 2 defences, but with no power they lined up on the front of my base and just slowly worked they way through the middle of it.
