Chapter 5 Sorry
- “Boss, give me a pack of Dunhill.”
- “You are so punctual every day.”
- One of the hawker stalls right opposite the street of Su Group.
- The owner of the store looked at Han Jingru with a heartfelt expression.
- Ever since three years ago, this young lad would appear in front of him at the same time, every single day without fail. The shop owner was curious at first but he eventually realized that whenever Su Yimo left the company, he would leave as well.
- The man had a speculation towards Han Jingru’s identity but he said nothing. The man understood that every family has their own difficulties. This matrilocal man in the Su family was derided by the entire city, probably he just didn’t want anyone else to know about his identity.
- “I am just free~” Han Jingru said with a smile.
- The shop owner was a middle-aged man and he was just impressed by Han Jingru’s persistence. For the past three years, the young man had appeared daily and sharply at four thirty in the afternoon. He would just stay by Su Yimo’s side quietly.
- “When do you plan to pick her off work? Or do you plan to simply look at her every day?” Since there were no other customers, the boss chitchatted with Han Jingru.
- Han Jingru looked towards the company entrance of the Su Group and smiled faintly, “The time isn’t right yet.”
- “Young lad, there is something that I wish to say but I do not know if it is appropriate.” the boss said.
- “Sure thing, don’t worry about it!”
- “You do not look like an ordinary person to me. But… Why did you marry into the Su family?” Although the shop owner wasn’t the most experienced man in discerning people, he had a feeling that Han Jingru was just different from others. It was a hunch and he couldn’t give a more detailed description. All in all, the boss was confident that he wasn’t a trash like what everyone said.
- “I eat, poop and sleep. I am just the most ordinary of man.” Han Jingru said slowly.
- “You know I wasn’t referring to that.” the boss hesitated for a while and continued, “You are even able to swallow in so many insults. If it were me, I would have lost it already.”
- Lost it?
- Han Jingru chuckled. The man known as the lowest of trash married into the Su family, and yet, Su Yimo did not lose it. How could he have any right to complain?
- In others’ eyes, Han Jingru was gallantly bearing injustice.
- However, in Han Jingru’s eyes, Su Yimo was having it much worse than him.
- “What I went through is nothing compared to her.” Han Jingru muttered.
- The boss simply sighed and said no more.
- When Su Yimo got off work, Han Jingru bid the boss goodbye and simply rode his little scooter away.
- Su Yimo stood by the company door and watched Han Jingru disappeared into the distance.
- For the past three years, Han Jingru had been waiting for her to get off work every single day.
- As for Su Yimo, she would also wait for Han Jingru to leave before getting into her car.
- When she got home, Su Wenlun told Jiang Yan what happened in the meeting earlier and the mother finally lost it.
- “Su Yimo, are you crazy!? Have you ever thought that after we are kicked out from the Su family, who takes care of our livelihood!?”
- “Su Ruijin was taunting you on purpose. Can’t you even tell his objectives?”
- Su Yimo simply answered indifferently, “He doesn’t want us to have a share in the family fortune.”
- When Jiang Yan heard that, her face turned grim and she roared, “Since you knew, why did you agree to him!? All of them failed, what makes you think you can do it!?”
- Su Yimo had a complicated feeling. She trusted Han Jingru but she didn’t know if she was right or wrong.
- Although they had a lowly position in the company, the moment the grandmother dies, they could definitely get their fair share. But if they were to be kicked out from the Su family, they wouldn’t be able to get anything.
- The woman had bet everything on Han Jingru and trusted him. But the price was just too high…
- But now that she had given her words, there was no chance for her to turn back.
- “Mum, don’t you have any faith in me?” Su Yimo said.
- Jiang Yan was so angry that she was striking her own chest, “How do you expect me to trust you? Every single one from the Su family failed! What makes you think you are so special!?”
- So what was it?
- Su Yimo didn’t know as well. Because the only reason she agreed to do that was because of one text from Han Jingru.
- At that time, Han Jingru got home as well. He walked towards Su Yimo and spoke to Jiang Yan, “Mum, you should trust her. Yimo can definitely do that.”
- Jiang Yan looked at Han Jingru in disgust and sneered, “What does that have to do with you? If it wasn’t for you marrying into our family, my pretty daughter can definitely score a good man with prominent family. You have ruined us! How dare you speak right now?!”
- Han Jingru kept his silence and went to cook in the kitchen.
- “Han Jingru, can I trust you?” Su Yimo called out to Han Jingru all of the sudden.
- The man turned over with a smile, “Yes.”
- “What is happening?” Jiang Yan could tell that there was more that met the eye and she hurriedly asked her daughter. Could it be that trash made Su Yimo agreed to the deal?
- “Come over here and speak clearly! Are you involved in this matter? Are you the one that made Yimo agreed?” Jiang Yan interrogated Han Jingru furiously.
- Su Yimo knew that if the mother were to know about that text, she would definitely cause trouble for Han Jingru. She might even chase the man out from the house.
- “Mum, that was my decision and it has nothing to do with him.” Su Yimo said.
- “Nothing to do with him? I think you have lost your mind because of him! How can you even trust him? Su Yimo, have you lost your mind!?” Jiang Yan grabbed Su Yimo’s shoulder. The mother was just overcome with rage and she was hurting Su Yimo.
- When Han Jingru saw her pained expression, his face turned into a cold chill and he grabbed Jiang Yan’s wrist and said coldly, “Whether Yimo can do it or not, you will learn of it tomorrow. Why aren’t you willing to trust her?”
- Jiang Yan was even more infuriated. How could that piece of trash talk back to her!?
- “Don’t touch me. You don’t have the right to speak in our house!” Jiang Yan fumed.
- Han Jingru simply leered at Jiang Yan emotionlessly. The man did not back off and it was the first time he showed an uncompromising side to him.
- When Jiang Yan looked into Han Jingru’s eyes, all of a sudden fear struck her. It felt as if she was on his mercy.
- When Su Wenlun saw that things were getting serious, he hurriedly came forward to break the fight, “All of you should calm down. Now that what happened has happened, it is pointless to argue. Let’s try to think of a solution or any idea that could help Yimo to finish her assignment.”
- After Jiang Yan released Su Yimo, Han Jingru loosened his grip as well. He spoke to Su Yimo gently, “I’ll go make dinner.”
- Jiang Yan was simmering in hatred as she looked at her reddened wrist. The mother sneered resentfully, “I will make sure to kick you out from my family… You trash!”
- When they were having dinner, Jiang Yan did not join them. Su Wenlun was giving a brief about everything he knew about Rumo Real Estate. The father was afraid as well. If the daughter were to fail tomorrow, Su Ruijin and the other relatives would definitely chew on her. If they were to be kicked out from the Su family, that marked the end of them.
- After the dinner, Han Jingru went to take a shower. When he went back to the room, he saw that Su Yimo was sitting on her bed and looking intently at himself.
- Han Jingru lied down on the floor mat and spoke to Su Yimo, “The owner of Rumo real estate is my classmate.”
- “I see.” Su Yimo gave a simple reply and asked no more.
- The room was pin drop silence. But that was just the daily norm for the past three years.
- However, Su Yimo was feeling something different within. The moment Han Jingru grabbed her mother’s arm, she had never seen that kind of gaze from him.
- “Don’t wait for me in the company next time.”
- The woman said suddenly.
- Han Jingru was a little surprised as he didn’t know that Su Yimo knew.
- “Okay.”
- Su Yimo back faced Han Jingru and bit her lips. Her heart was rippling in a gentle wave.
- She had always thought that she could easily divorce Han Jingru. But ever since yesterday, she noticed that she couldn’t do it.
- No matter how useless and incompetent the man was, he had stood by her side without fail for the past three years.
- No matter what kind of attacks were directed to him, no matter how cold and disinterested she treated him, he would always maintain a sunshine on his face just in front of her.
- Su Yimo wasn’t a hardened person. And the woman found out that she had gotten used to his companionship.
- “Pick me up at the company entrance.”
- Han Jingru was shocked, as if he was electrified. He looked at Su Yimo’s lying side and his wide opened eyes slowly brimmed in happiness.
- Su Yimo couldn’t see Han Jingru’s expression. When she didn’t hear any reply from him, she thought that he wasn’t willing and she said in frustration, “If you aren’t willing, forget it.”
- Han Jingru was so excited that he sat right up, “I… I do, I am willing.”
- When Su Yimo felt a strong emotion from his words, a drop of tear flowed down uncontrollably.
- The man wanted so little…
- “Forgive me for the past three years.”
