Chapter 5 Chicken Soup
- "They're new, you can use 'em."
- Just as Han was about to speak, Felix interrupted him, "I'll tell your mom what happened to you in school today if you don't accept them."
- Han silently accepted the books.
- "Thanks."
- Ding! "Likeability with target increased by 5. Overall likeability level is -30."
- "Tch. What a drama queen."
- The school dismissed at noon.
- Felix went to the restaurant and sat in the same seat as yesterday.
- He looked at Han's sweaty back and remembered what Mellie asked him on that day.
- "Hannie used to come back with injuries, does he get into fights often?"
- "Hannie said that the teacher had always taken good care of him. It seemed like your homeroom teacher is a nice person."
- Felix noticed that Han always swallowed his anger.
- He was like a lone wolf, as he would lick his wounds before returning to the den with the meat he found.
- However, he could not hide his injuries from his caring mother.
- He did not fight back because he wanted to protect his dignity. He thought that if he did not resist it, the bullies would eventually get tired of him.
- In the afternoon, Han entered the classroom just in time as the bell rang. Fortunately, the homeroom teacher had not arrived yet.
- He got to his desk and saw bread and milk on the table.
- Han was taken aback by it and looked at Felix, who was next to him.
- "My back hurts today, don't make me carry you the next time."
- Ding! "Likeability with target increased by 5, overall likeability level is -25."
- Han could not notice Felix's smirk from his angle.
- After the first period was over, Han took out the bread and ate it with his head down.
- Felix lay on his stomach and pretended to be asleep when he heard Han opening the package.
- If Han knew Felix was awake, he would not eat it in front of him as he valued his pride.
- When it was time to leave school, the monitor stepped onto the podium.
- "It's this group's turn to carry out duties this week! Remember to turn off the lights and close the windows after cleaning up."
- It happened to be Han's row on duty.
- However, the others did not seem to hear the monitor's words. They packed their bags and walked out of the classroom one after another. After a while, Han and Felix were the only ones left in the classroom.
- Felix sighed while he walked to the corner and picked up the broom unenthusiastically.
- "I don't need your pity." Han's voice echoed in the classroom, and he did not have a trace of warmth in his voice.
- Despite that, Felix seemed to ignore him and swept the podium.
- "I also don't want to be playing dumb games with rich people like you."
- Felix straightened his back and placed his hands on the desk. He looked at Han and said, "Since when was I playing a game with you?"
- Han picked up the broom and replied, "You know what I mean."
- "Yeah, I wanna have fun with you," Felix admitted.
- A trace of disappointment flashed in Han's eyes, then his eyes turned cold.
- Upon seeing this, Felix took out his wallet and walked up to him. He opened it and showed Han a picture of his mother.
- "This is a picture of my mom."
- There was a trace of mixed feelings in his tone as if he was enduring something.
- "Look, our moms look alike. They're also gentle and love to smile."
- He looked at Han seriously, "I don't care if you believe me or not. I really wanna be friends with you out of pity, let alone playing pranks on you."
- When he withdrew his hand, he did not get a notification from the system saying that their likeability level increased, so he had to use his trump card.
- He threw the broom aside and took out a bag from his desk, then handed it to Han.
- "It's for your mom, I won't have the chance to go to your place in the future."
- Although he had a tough tone, Han could still hear the regret in his words,
- He looked at the woolen hat in the bag and took it silently.
- Ding! "Likeability with target increased by 15. Overall likeability level is -10."
- After returning home, Felix took out his wallet and looked at the photos as he raised his eyebrows.
- "Thank goodness I brought these photos in advance. I didn't expect them to come in handy today."
- The system detected serious fluctuations in the host's mood in the morning. "Please…"
- "What do you have to say?" Felix interrupted the system's message impatiently.
- "Han was bullied and I stood up for him, wasn't it the perfect way to gain his liking?"
- The host clarified the rules of Plane, and the system would no longer remind him of it.
- …
- On their last day of cleaning duty, Felix leaned against the door with a mop in his hand.
- "My dad said that my grades are terrible, and I need to be tutored on the weekends, sigh…"
- After he sighed, he looked at Han, "Why don't you be a tutor if you have such excellent grades?"
- "Tuition centers do not accept high schoolers."
- “Tch," Felix said and nodded.
- "Yeah, you're right… Why don't you be my tutor? My dad will pay the tutoring fees. Come on, let's help each other out."
- "No."
- Felix straightened his back and said, "Why?"
- "You're too dumb."
- Felix took a deep breath and gritted his teeth, "That's why I need a tutor."
- Han returned to his seat and packed his bag, "I'm not free this weekend." He then left.
- Felix looked at Han's back and thought to himself, Don't be mad, don't be mad. We got to meet because of fate.
- On Saturday, Han helped Mellie back from the hospital.
- As soon as he walked up the stairs, he saw Felix standing in front of his house.
- Felix grinned and called out, "Hi, Mrs. Evans."
- "Felix is here," Mellie smiled and spoke to Han. "Hannie, would you please open the door?"
- Mellie walked in when he unlocked the door. Han grabbed Felix as he was about to step inside.
- "What are you doing here?" Han asked in a low tone.
- Felix tried to free his arm but his grip grew stronger.
- Felix smirked, then leaned onto Han. Eventually, Han let go of his arm immediately.
- "I'm not here to see you." Felix stepped inside the house with the items he brought.
- He placed the thermos bottle on the table and went to the kitchen to get two bowls. Then, he poured the contents into them.
- "I brought chicken soup, Mrs. Evans. Please have it while it's hot."
- Felix placed a towel under the bowl and handed it to Mellie.
- He then handed another bowl to Han and said, "Mrs. Evans, you kept coughing the last time I was here. This is good for your lungs."
