Chapter 2 Interacting With Han
- Sigh… I guess that's what I get for being too handsome. Felix thought to himself, and it took the system a while to reply to him.
- The system window popped up with bad news.
- "What's wrong, Felix?" asked the girl, who had been peeping at him all along and noticed that he was gritting his teeth.
- "Oh, nothing. Are we there yet?" Felix smiled and asked.
- The girl wanted to show him around the cafeteria once they arrived. However, Felix stopped her.
- "My friend saved a space for us." The girl pointed to the left, "Come sit over there later." She ran away with her food tray before he could answer.
- Felix was used to this kind of situation as he looked at what was sold there and bought a sandwich.
- He looked to the left, bought three cartons of milk, and walked to the seat.
- The three girls stopped talking as soon as he approached them.
- Felix gave them the milk and said, "Thanks for saving me a seat."
- When the girl who brought him to the cafeteria noticed that everyone had a carton of milk, she felt disappointed as she faked a grin and thanked him.
- After they left the cafeteria, he made an excuse to go to the bathroom and waved them goodbye.
- After listening to them chatter all afternoon, he gathered some useful information, so he thought that he did not waste an hour.
- In a nutshell, his target, Han, was an outcast who was ignored by the whole class. Other than his good grades, he was ugly, came from a poor family, and was antisocial.
- He often drags his tuition fee and even the homeroom teacher disliked him. Some even said that they saw him picking up trash in the market.
- Felix was not sure if they were lying because the fact Han's clothes smelled like garbage was just a rumor.
- Felix was sure that it was just a rumor because he sat next to him and could smell nothing but laundry detergent on him.
- After returning to the classroom, he noticed that Han had been gazing downward as if he had been doing so for the past thousand years.
- Felix brought out a carton of milk and placed it on the desk. "I bought too much, this is for you."
- Han seemed to be taken aback for a moment and spoke, "Thanks, but I'll pass."
- Felix raised his eyebrows as he did not expect Han's voice to be charming yet gloomy.
- "The homeroom teacher will be here soon."
- As soon as Felix pulled his chair, he heard someone saying, "I didn't even look for her."
- Han frowned, "You…"
- The other person had nothing to say. Felix sat down, thought for a while, and leaned over. "You think that I'll switch seats after listening to someone right?"
- Han took a step back and stuck to the wall when he saw Felix approaching him. He was afraid that he could not avoid Felix in time.
- Felix smirked and turned back, "I won't be switching seats, this is the best place to sleep. It would be more convenient if you'd let me sit here."
- The atmosphere was silent, as though he used up all his interaction with his target for the day.
- Felix pushed the milk carton to the left and reminded himself that he needed to get used to that kind of interaction.
- "This is for thanking you when you helped me to look out for the teacher while I was sleeping in class."
- Eventually, Han did not say that he would accept it, so the carton of milk was placed between the both of them.
- When school was dismissed, Felix followed the crowd to the school gate.
- A man in his thirties stepped forward and grabbed Felix's bag. They walked towards a car.
- Felix got into the car when he heard a notification from the system.
- Ding! "Likeability with target decreased by 20. Overall likeability level is -40."
- Felix was incredibly puzzled.
- He stopped the driver and stuck his head out the window to look around.
- After looking around, he recognized Han's slender back as he threw the carton of milk that Felix gave him into the trash can.
- Felix felt furious. How could Han hate Felix over a carton of milk?
- He leaned back in his seat, took a deep breath, and grinned.
- The higher the difficulty, the more challenging it would be. He was eager to see who was tempted first.
- "Drive."
- …
- For the next few days, Han refused to answer Felix whenever he spoke to him.
- Felix felt that the conversation he had with Han the other day was just a hallucination.
- They were having physics and Felix slept through the whole class as usual.
- He could feel someone's breath, his eyelashes trembled and opened his eyes.
- Felix saw Han holding his pen, and he observed his chin, nose, and eyes which were covered by thick hair.
- Han had good handwriting, he had good strokes, and his hand was slender with wounds on them.
- His jawline was sharp and his lips were puckered, he also had a pretty nose.
- He found that Han was not as ugly as the rumors were, but he kept his head low all the time and had hair covering his face. That was why no one cared about his appearance.
- Han seemed to notice Felix was looking at him and his body was tensed up.
- Felix noticed that Han felt uncomfortable, then cushioned his head on his arms and continued looking at him.
- Felix only wanted to observe him this way because his profile looked the best at that angle.
- Ding! "Likeability level decreased by 10. Overall likeability level is -50."
- "I can't even look at him? Why is he so sensitive?"
- Felix sat up as his face grew gloomy.
- "Please come up with a plan, host."
- Felix ended up with a likeability level of -50 just by interacting with Han for a week. He felt defeated.
- "System, if my likeability level with Han drops to -100, it means I fail the task, right?"
- "Yes, host."
- Felix nodded, but before he could say anything else, the voice of the system began to ring in his head.
- "Punishment if the host fails the S-level task, the system will self-destruct, causing the host to die."
- Upon hearing that, he grinned, it seemed that he had to be serious with the given task.
- Two days passed and Felix was getting ready for Monday.
- Han appeared to have lost a ton of weight and had a terrible complexion over the weekend.
