Chapter 144 Liberation
- As Felix lifted his head, Henry offered him a slice of beef and urged, "Kitty, eat quickly." Before Henry could bite into his steamed bun, Felix had already popped the beef into his mouth. After devouring two more slices, Felix shook his head and hopped onto Henry's lap. Satisfied that Felix had eaten, Henry didn't try to coax him further and allowed the cat to snuggle up and eventually doze off. The previous night, Henry had gone to great lengths to transport the White family halfway across town to find the perfect location, despite encountering trouble with the coffin store's owner. Nevertheless, he was confident that Kelly, the general's wife, would offer a substantial sum of silver as hush money. Once Henry had finished his meal, he noticed that Felix had already fallen asleep on his lap. To avoid disturbing him, Henry remained still and maintained his posture.
- After some time, Felix finally opened his eyes and found himself in complete darkness. As he lifted his head, a familiar voice from above greeted him with an affectionate tone, "Kitty, you're awake." As he surveyed his surroundings, Felix realized he hadn't moved an inch. He hastily leaped onto the table and gazed at Henry, who appeared visibly troubled. Due to the absence of any light sources in the room, Henry was unable to discern Felix's expression as he urged him to "hurry back to the small courtyard and grab something to eat, so you won't go hungry." Felix reached out to touch Henry's face with his paw, and Henry reciprocated with a delighted caress.
- Suddenly, a voice echoed in the room, warning Felix, "If you don't depart at once, you'll transform into a human." Startled by this statement, Felix leaped off the table and took a few steps back to face Henry. Struggling to reach the window, Felix finally managed to escape through it, and as he did, he transformed into a human form.
