• Tanya felt proud of her achievement but it had come at a high personal cost. A week before the court case Sammi Mills the woman who had fled to Australia to try and escape and gone missing was found. Her body had been dumped beside the road in a backstreet of Mumbai. The autopsy found she had multiple stab wounds inflicted over a protracted timeframe including having her genitalia and breast mutilated. She had slowly bled out from the internal damage done to her. It couldn't be proven but the assumption was that the $500,000 payment made was for some individual to have inflict Sammi's final humiliation and her ultimate release from the world she felt trapped in. It appeared that even hiding half way around the world hadn't protected her.
• Directly after the court case the Chief Constable and other senior staff gave a press briefing praising the dedication and resolute approach his force had taken to bring down the abhorrent sex abuse ring. Tanya sat next to Graham amongst the press. At the end of the briefing two men walked up to the platform and intercepted the Chief Constable. Tanya and Graham watched with interest as the two men didn't fit in with the current environment. The Chief Constable seemed annoyed at the intrusion but his whole demeanour changed after they gave him a document which he appeared to quickly read before handing it back.
• Tanya looked at the two men. One was probably late forties or early fifties, tall, exceptionally well dressed with salt and pepper hair. He had a distinguished look probably senior ex-military if Tanya had to hazard a guess. But the other guy, heck they were like chalk and cheese. Probably early thirties he looked more like a drug dealer, his hair unkempt but fashionably so, tattoos visible on his arms and upper torso to his lower neck. He had a piercing through an eyebrow and could best be described as menacing. He looked unpredictable, the sort of person that would cause a fight simply because he was in the mood for one. It didn't add up. After a few minutes of talking the Chief Constable glanced over to look at Graham and Tanya and the two men looked over following his gaze.
