Chapter 4
- Dagmar
- The three Alpha’s all look at me in shock. They know what that means within a Lycan Pack. I am a force to be reckoned with. Becoming Commander of the Guards within a Lycan Pack is hard, even for a Lycan.
- And with me being a Werewolf, you can do the math. And even though they now know my rank, it does not seem to diminish the strange looks they are giving me. Not that I care, but I know that no one of our Pack is amused and they will make sure that that is known.
- Shaking my head, I turn around and walk over to Jenna. Through mind-link I hear her say: “They really have a death wish. What the hell is wrong with these assholes? I am going to have fun on the training field.”
- “You will not be the only one.”
- I state. And we both turn towards the rest of our Squad to see the determent looks on their faces. Yep, the first few days on the training field are going to be fun for us.
- Alpha Adam has assigned us a house next to the Pack-house, where we will be staying for the duration of our stay. We have to room with one and other to fit our group into the house.
- But most of us are used to having one or more roommates, so that is not a problem. The only one who will not have a roommate is Alpha Maddox. That is the benefit of being an Alpha.
- Jenna and I have to share a room, but that is all good. She is my best friend and has been by my side ever since I arrived at Maddox’s Pack over 12 years ago. She has seen the best and the worst of me over the years.
- After unpacking our stuff, we head over to the Pack-house for a meeting with the Alpha’s, their Beta’s, Gamma’s, and the future Alpha’s. As always Marcus and Daniel lead the way, making sure everything is secure.
- I walk next to Alpha Maddox and Uncle James is on his other side. The rest of the Squad and Rico are walking behind us as we enter the Pack-house. Every conversation falls to a halt as we enter the Livingroom.
- A she-wolf, to my left, gets up and checks out Maddox from top to bottom with a lustful look on her face. I can understand why she is checking him out.
- With his 6’5, his broad shoulders, his tattoo’s, and his long, black hair he is a gorgeous man. His face looks as if a sculptor made it. Yeah, I understand all too well.
- Maddox
- I turn away from the Alpha’s to hide my smile, after hearing Jenna through the mind-link. Looking at Rico, I ask Alpha Adam over my shoulder if they can show us where we will be staying.
- He tells us that they have a house for us, which is next to the Pack-house. We walk into the house and James walks off to look at the lay-out. He lets me know that there are seven rooms, one with an ensuite bathroom.
- He assigns that room to me and tells the rest that they will have to share a room. The guys dash off to commandeer a room and within seconds it is just me and Dagmar left in the hallway.
- She shakes her head as she looks at me and sighs. “What are they, four?” she says and we both laugh at that. I can tell she is tired, and I tell her to go rest for a while, but as usual she is her stubborn self and shakes her head.
- “No, let’s get this over with. I am going to find Jenna and unpack. Then we can go and talk to the Alpha’s.” Like me and the others she wants to find the Evil Moon Pack and end their reign of terror.
- Watching her walk away I start to wonder, and my head gets filled with thoughts I know I have to bury for now. Suddenly I am aware of Rico and James staring at me.
- I hope they do not figure out what I have been hiding, because I am not sure if any of us is ready for what I have been suspecting for years. As soon as everyone is back downstairs, we head over to the Pack-house. Chatter is coming from the living-room and as we walk in every conversation stops.
- Dagmar
- Maddox has not noticed the She-wolf or the way she is looking at him. Jenna taps my shoulder with a smirk on her face and we both know how this is going to end.
- Maddox is not interested in women, unless she turns out to be his second change mate. But finding a second chance mate is rare, almost as rare as I am. So, we know that he will turn her down and that it will not be gentle.
- We have all seen and heard it before and I can guarantee you it is not pretty to watch. The She-wolf walks up to Maddox, puts her hand on his arm and looks up at him through her eyelashes.
- “Hello, handsome.” She says. “Who are you? My name is Sienna, I am the Beta’s daughter.” I have to restrain myself from growling, from giving myself away.
- Jealousy is stirring within my Wolf, and she lets me know that she is not amused at all. “Calm down, Emma. We cannot show what this does to us.” My Wolf whimpers, but nods.
- She knows we cannot show our jealousy. And we both know that Maddox will turn her down. Maddox turns his head to the she-wolf and smiles.
- “Oh, fuck”
- I hear Rico mutter through the mind-link. We all know what will happen and step back to give it some room. His voice comes out, gentle and sweet.
- “Get your hand the fuck away from me unless you want to lose it. Find someone else to warm your bed.” And with that he turns to Alpha Adam.
- Jenna and I stifle a grin at the look on the face of the she-wolf. Sienna is not liking our reaction and decides to lash out. “What the fuck are you looking at, Bitch.” She says.
- And before Jenna or I can react, Maddox grabs her by the throat and lifts her of the ground. He throws her across the room and walks over to her. Looking down at her, he says “Get the fuck out or I will end you.”
- She scrambles from the floor and bolts out of the room. My Wolf and I are content with Maddox’s action, but the Alpha’s are not. Alpha Jonas starts to open his mouth, but Maddox beats him to it.
- “If anyone of your people act out again, the consequences will be severe.” And the room falls silent again. As if she knows we need a distraction Lily walks in and announces that lunch is ready.
- One of the other She-wolves in the room turns to Lily and shoves her out of the way, making a beeline for the dining-room. Before Lily can hit the floor, Marcus reaches for her.
- And, as if we do not know who she is, Marcus asks: “Are you okay, little one? What’s your name?” She looks up at him and says: “My name is Lily.”
- Then she quickly makes her way out of the room. In the meantime, most of the people in the room have moved to the dining-room. We look over at the dining-room and realize that all the seats are taken.
- No one even bother to leave an empty seat for Alpha Maddox.
