Chapter 3
- Maddox
- The SUV in front of us finally comes to a halt and I know where we are. This is where the Pack-house used to be, the house Dagmar grew up in.
- But as we all look around, we can tell that it is no longer visible that this was a place where a Pack once lived. All the houses and foundations are gone, in its place there are fences and buildings that look to be dressing rooms and indoor training facilities.
- Suddenly I see Jenna taking off into the woods and then there is a squeal. When she comes back out, she is holding a woman by the arm. Marcus approaches her and at first, I wanna stop him from doing so.
- But then he surprises me and probably the rest as well. He crouches down to eye-level with the woman and asks her for her name. I can hear her response and then Dagmar walks over to her.
- Dagmar tells the Squad to investigate, and everyone wanders of in various directions. I do not go too far, because I want to keep an eye on Dagmar. I want to be able to get to her if I think that will be necessary.
- Because I am not too far away from Dagmar, I hear everything that is being asked and said. When I hear Lily apologize for trying to comfort James and that she should not have done that, because she is an Omega, I wanna kill someone.
- Dagmar
- Maddox looks at Lily and tells her not to worry. That we will not inform her Alpha of what happened. My Uncle and I thank her for taking care of the grave site.
- And then she tells us that it is not just her, but that Omega’s from all three Packs helped out. That they made the fence themselves because no one else cared if it had stayed unmarked.
- We send Lily back to her Pack and tell her to act as if we had never met. We all get back into the SUV’s and drive back to where we had come from. Carlos makes sure the gate gets locked again.
- As we approach Black Moon Pack territory, we see a lot of camera’s and hidden guards along the way. When we get to the gate, there are a handful of guards stepping in front of our vehicles. Marcus chuckles:” Do they have a death wish?”
- You see, it is not smart stepping in front of a vehicle with Marcus behind the wheel. I have witnessed this more than once. Always with a bad outcome for the one standing in the way.
- I gave him a stern look and he stops the car. “Just kidding.” He says trough the mind-link. “Boys will be boys.” I hear Jenna mutter.
- One of the guards walks up to the SUV and signals Marcus to roll down the window. We hear Daniel mumble from the backseat: “Does he think we’re deaf?”
- And Carlos let’s out a laugh, while I shake my head. Marcus rolls down the window and looks at the guard. “State your name, rank and reason of your visit.” Is this fucking idiot for real? I believe he definitely has a death wish.
- I mind-link Maddox to ask what he wants us to do. If I had to call the shots right now, the moron would be dead. Maddox has Rico rolling down his window and he says: “I’m Alpha Maddox and I’m here to meet with your Alpha.”
- The guard looks in his direction and then makes the mistake of his live. He turns back towards Marcus and repeats his words. Before I can say or do anything, Marcus has grabbed the idiot by his collar.
- He pulls the guard towards him and butts heads with him, leaving the guard unconscious. Then he steps on the gas and the other guards manage to jump out of the way as he drives through the gate.
- Maddox
- Getting back in the SUV’s, I am still fuming. Before I can say anything, I notice that James is already on the phone with the Council. He explains what we have come across and demands they send Council members to investigate and punish the Packs accordingly.
- I can hear the responses from the other end of the line and a smirk appears on my face. “Now there will be hell to pay.” Rico says.
- As we pull up to the gate of the Black Moon Pack, we are still discussing the situation of these Omega’s and the violation of the Council rules.
- “Gather as much evidence as you can, make sure that there is no way they can deny anything. Then Dagmar mind-links me to draw my attention to the guard next to their SUV.
- Rico opens the window and I identify myself as Alpha Maddox and that we are here to see Alpha Adam. The guard decides to ignore me and turns his attention back to Marcus.
- Then there is chaos, because Marcus grabs the guard and drops him down, unconscious. Next thing I know, Marcus drives through the gate and heads for the Pack-house.
- Dagmar
- In front of the Pack-house he slams on the breaks and comes to a halt. By the looks on everyone’s faces, we know that they are aware of what happened at the gate. Some look at us in terror, while others look pissed as hell.
- As we all get out of the cars, a tall man with dark, short hair steps forward. “What the fuck were you thinking. Attacking one of my men. I’ll have your head for this.” He yells.
- I look at the man with a smirk on my face. “You want what?” I ask him. “If your man had shown some respect for Alpha Maddox, this wouldn’t have happened. You’re lucky he is still alive.”
- I step closer to the man, my hand on one of my machetes. “So, you wanna try that again...” I say looking into his eyes. The man stares back at me, his lips drown in a tight line.
- Then another man steps forward, by the looks of him around the same age as the man in front of me. “My name is Alpha Jonas of the Half Moon Pack, and this is Alpha Adam of the Black Moon Pack.” He states.
- As if we had not gathered that he was the Pack’s Alpha from his words already. Do these guys really think we are brainless? I turn my head towards Alpha Jonas and then back to Alpha Adam.
- Sensing Maddox approaching, I step aside. A third man steps next to Alpha Adam and looks at me with a strange look on his face. “My name is Alpha Nathan of the Crescent Moon Pack. And you better show some respect, woman.”
- Behind me I hear gasps coming from my Squad members. I also sense that anger is radiating from Maddox and Uncle James. Looking up at my Uncle, I can tell that he is not pleased with the tone in which Alpha Nathan was speaking to me.
- “My name is Alpha Maddox, this is my Gamma James, My Beta Rico. And this lovely young lady is my Commander of the Guards, Dagmar.” I see a glint in his eyes as he speaks, and I hear chuckles behind me.
- Every member of my Squad knows that I hate it when he calls me that. Under normal circumstances I would have punched or kicked him.
- But now in front of these Alpha’s he knows I will refrain myself from lashing out. He also knows he is going to pay for this on the training field.
- Maddox
- I can tell that the Alpha’s are pissed, but I do not care, the guy had it coming. Everyone exits the SUV’s and then Alpha Adam starts shouting in our direction.
- What the fuck is wrong with these people, don’t they realize how disrespectful they are. And it is not smart threatening Dagmar when she is in a foul mood already.
- She approaches Alpha Adam with a hand on one of her machetes, so I walk towards Dagmar to make sure she does not take a head off. Then Alpha Nathan opens his yap and out of his mouth come even more insults.
- So, I introduce myself, my Beta, and my Gamma. Then I introduce Dagmar and because I know she hates it; I use the phrase; lovely young lady. She will make me pay for this, I am sure of that, but she will not do anything right now.
- I also make sure that I tell the Alpha’s that she is my Commander of the Guards. I hear gasps and chuckles from the Squad, and I can feel anger radiating from Dagmar.
- Yeah, she is going to make me pay for that one. But I also know it will allow me to touch her, not in the way I would like, but it would have to do.
- What surprises me is that only for a second, I can see shock in their eyes. After that, the look in their eyes returns back to hostile, for what reason I do not know. But I hope that they understand now that it is not a good idea to piss Dagmar off.
- Becoming Commander of the Guards within a Lycan Pack is not easy. You have to excel at everything; fighting, strategies and so much more. How Dagmar was able to surpass every man in my Pack is still a mystery to me.
- After all she is a Werewolf, not a Lycan and yet she is my Commander of the Guards. I am so proud of her, and I know that every member of my Pack respects her.
