Chapter 4

  • Hailey is in the living room, cleaning the large glass windows that overlook the beautiful garden, while singing a lovely song that touches her soul because it reminds her of her parents.
  • She finished singing, wiped away her tears as she made the glass shine, and when she looked up, she saw the reflection of a man standing in the large window.
  • She turned around and it was Arturo, standing there, observing her.
  • Hailey quickly regained her composure.
  • "Mr. Arturo," she said and took off her headphones.
  • "Do you need something, sir?"
  • "It is forbidden to use headphones while working. I've been calling you for a while," he said.
  • "I'm very sorry, Mr. Arturo. Tell me, how can I assist you?"
  • She blushed at the mere thought that he had heard her singing.
  • "It's my birthday, and there will be a gathering in my apartment. The chef will be there, and I need you to be there too and do your job well. Did you hear me?"
  • "Yes, sir."
  • Arturo was about to ask her why she was crying, but he preferred to remain silent.
  • He turned around and left while she stayed there, looking at him. As she had never loved a man before, she didn't know what she was feeling for Arturo.
  • "Shall we go, Chelsito?" Hailey said to the chef.
  • "Yes, girl, today will be a quite busy day."
  • "May God protect us," said Rosita. They received the blessing and left in the car with Luis.
  • "We should go out, the three of us," Luis suggested.
  • "Go out where?" Hailey asked, confused.
  • "To dance, where else? We spend all our time working," Luis replied with a smile.
  • "You're right!" Chelsito agreed.
  • "So, what do you say?"
  • "And if we bring Iliana? She is a worker in the mansion, her job is to take care of the garden and everything related to plants. Hailey had become friends with her."
  • "Then we go out on Saturday night, no one can take back what was said," Luis said.
  • As night fell, Arturo's guests started to arrive, including handsome and important men and women, as Chelsito said.
  • "Are there about 20 people?" Hailey asked.
  • "Yes!" Chelsito replied, "but the escorts are still missing."
  • "What are those?"
  • "Right, you're innocent, haha, they are the women who dance, you know."
  • "Oh! I don't want to be there for that moment."
  • "But you have to. Look, take these tequeños, behave well, I already told you how to carry the tray."
  • Hailey walked over to where Arturo was talking and smiling with some people.
  • "Good evening, gentlemen, would you like to have some?" Hailey offered arrogantly.
  • Everyone started to take a tequeño, except for Arturo, who elegantly drank wine.
  • "Arturo, I didn't know you had such beautiful servants," a man of about 25 years old said.
  • "I don't have to say it," he replied seriously.
  • "Do you mind if I go out with your servant?"
  • "I don't mind at all, you can do whatever you want with her."
  • Hailey didn't know what to think of him, he was so cruel.
  • "I won't see you tonight, sir!" Hailey said seriously.
  • "Watch how you speak to me," said that man. "You can't disobey your boss."
  • "He is my boss at work, not in my personal life. Excuse me."
  • Hailey left and went to the kitchen, feeling suffocated.
  • "What happened to you? Look at yourself, Hailey," the chef said.
  • "I just learned to respect, nothing more."
  • "Behave, here comes the boss."
  • Hailey began to wash some dishes until she felt that Arturo was very close to her.
  • He approached her ear and whispered,
  • "You are here to serve me, Hailey. Do not disrespect your superiors again."
  • She turned around to face him.
  • "Sir, if I don't respect myself, no one will. If you don't like that I, as a woman, do this job, then I will leave and deduct it from my salary."
  • He smiled bitterly and said,
  • "You think you're clever, don't you? Do you not know who I am?"
  • "You are my boss, sir."
  • "Exactly. Now get back to work."
  • Hailey couldn't help but get lost in his gaze and his lips.
  • Until Paulo arrived with five almost naked women.
  • Arturo left and those women began to touch him, and he did the same. Hailey didn't want to see those scenes, so she helped Chelsito in the kitchen.
  • "When will they cut the cake?" she asked.
  • "Hahaha, cake? No, Hailey. Since I started working for Mr. Arturo, we never cut a cake. We only have these kinds of parties."
  • Hailey was surprised.
  • She was serving the wine and putting it on a tray when she felt a gaze and turned to look. It was Arturo, watching her while a woman performed an erotic dance for him.
  • Hailey broke the gaze and proceeded to bring the wine.
  • She went to the bathroom and when she came out, she felt her ankle twist.
  • But Paulo, who was going to the bathroom, helped her.
  • "Come, sit down," he kindly offered.
  • "It's nothing, Mr. Paulo. I managed to react and didn't hurt myself. It's just that these shoes are too tight."
  • "That's it! Good, but you walk excellently, Hailey."
  • "I can handle all types of heels, sir. It's just that these are not my size."
  • "Why didn't you say so?"
  • "I don't want to bother, and besides, I didn't think I would have to wear them today. They were the only ones left by the previous employee."
  • "Tomorrow you will have a pair in your size."
  • "No, sir. I buy my own shoes."
  • "That's part of the job, Hailey."
  • "I want to ask something. Can I?"
  • "Of course, sir."
  • "Do you like Arturo?"
  • Hailey wanted the ground to swallow her up because of Paulo's question.
  • "Sir..."
  • "Just tell me yes or no."
  • "Y-y-yes!" she said, blushing.
  • "Listen to me, you will get hurt. He is my best friend, but he doesn't believe in love, although I believe that you could change that."
  • "It's impossible, sir. He hates me, detests me. To him, I'm a messy, graceless woman."
  • "Look at me, Hailey."
  • She slowly raised her gaze.
  • "Hailey, you will suffer. Nothing in life is easy, even for love, you have to fight. But you are young and tender, and I know you have character. You have to respect yourself."
  • "I don't want to be rude, Mr. Paulo, but I have been helped enough."
  • "But you don't work for free, girl. Demand respect because you are the most beautiful girl my eyes have ever seen."
  • "For you and him, I am just a girl."
  • "For me, you are Hailey, because I don't see you with the same eyes. Do you understand?"
  • "Yes, sir, and I appreciate it."
  • "Thank you for the conversation. I'm going to work; the boss gets irritated."
  • "Don't wear those shoes anymore. Put on your normal ones, okay?"
  • "Thank you, sir."
  • "Hey, it's good that you put that miserable guy in his place."
  • Hailey smiled and blushed with embarrassment.
  • She returned to work.
  • "Where have you been?"
  • "Chelsito, I had an issue with my shoes, but I'm ready now. What do I do?"
  • "The boss said to bring him the wine and three glasses. He's in his room with three women. I don't think you'll enjoy the scene."
  • "I know, Chelsito. After all, it's my job, right?"
  • "You're right. Here, take these appetizers."
  • Hailey went to the room and Chelsito helped her open the door. She entered but didn't turn to look at Arturo and the three women.
  • Hailey poured the wine into four glasses and left everything organized on the table. She was about to leave.
  • "Where do you think you're going?" he said with a voice that infuriated her even more.
  • "Sir, I brought your order. Would you like anything else?" she asked, looking him in the eyes. She gathered the courage to look at that horrifying scene where the women were all over him.
  • "Bring us the wine."
  • She did as he asked, approached, and each of those women took their glass.
  • "Can I leave now, sir?" Hailey asked defiantly, which made Arturo even angrier.
  • "Yes!" he said arrogantly. "Bring us the appetizers. I want to eat well to give my companions what they deserve."
  • Hailey approached with the tray, wanting to throw it in his face. They started eating. The truth is, they are beautiful, with spectacular bodies, just the way Arturo likes them, Hailey thought.
  • "Anything else, sir?"
  • "Leave!"
  • It's 2 am and Hailey feels like she's about to fall asleep from exhaustion.
  • "Chelsito, we should go."
  • "I'm tired too, but remember the extra money they're going to give us, Hailey."
  • Arturo is drunk, very drunk. Hailey is disgusted watching him kiss one woman and then another, while Paulo is left alone with one.
  • "Friend, it's time for the chef and Hailey to leave," Paulo says.
  • "No!"
  • "Come on, you're already drunk. They're tired, don't be selfish."
  • "Let the chef go, Hailey has to stay here."
  • Paulo signals and the women accompanying them move away.
  • "What's wrong with Hailey?" Paulo asks impatiently.
  • "With that brat, nothing important."
  • "Don't lie to me, Arturo. Do you like her?"
  • "Like her? Come on, Paulo, don't you know me? She's not my type, although she can handle spending a night with her."
  • "Don't you dare play with her. Believe me when I tell you she's a good girl, Arturo."
  • "If you like her so much, I give you permission to go and fuck her."
  • "You're an idiot, Arturo. She's a child to me. Leave your nonsense. Admit that you like her."
  • "I don't like her, and I never will. I don't understand why you're so obsessed with her. I'm going to fuck, it's my birthday after all."
  • It's three in the morning, and Hailey is about to fall asleep. Her eyes are closing on their own.
  • "Come on, girl, we're going to get scolded."
  • "I can't take it anymore, Chelsito. My feet hurt, and my eyes are heavy."
  • "Let's go home!" Paulo orders when he sees that many people have already left.
  • Hailey smiles gratefully.
  • "Hailey, you have to come tomorrow to clean. You have little time to rest."
  • "I understand. If I sleep for 6 hours, it's enough for me."
  • "Take care."
  • The next day, Hailey woke up a little late but got ready immediately and didn't have breakfast. Instead, she quickly went to the apartment to clean and said goodbye to Luis.
  • There was a big mess.
  • She started cleaning the living room without making much noise.
  • She spent half an hour cleaning the room. There was a lot of disorder and spilled drinks.
  • Then she went to wash the bathroom, clean the hallway, the kitchen, and prepare breakfast.
  • Toast, scrambled eggs with sausage, cheese arepas, and fish broth.
  • Everything looked delicious.
  • "Good morning, Hailey," Paulo greeted her with a big smile.
  • "Mr. Paulo, I didn't know you stayed."
  • "I have to take care of him when he's not in his right mind."
  • "I understand, Mr. Paulo. Would you like breakfast?" she asked, smiling.
  • "Of course, the smell of something delicious reached the room, Hailey."
  • "I don't cook as well as Chelsito, but I do what I can. Will you have breakfast here at the bar or should I set the table?"
  • "Relax, here at the bar is fine."
  • Minutes later, Arturo came out of his room.
  • "Friend, come and have a seat, have breakfast. Hailey did it and it turned out delicious."
  • "Good morning, Mr. Arturo, please have a seat."
  • "I'm not going to have breakfast!"Arturo replied arrogantly.
  • "Come on, Arturo, I'm serious. Sit down, I'm your friend."
  • Arturo had no choice but to sit down and have breakfast, but every bite was a delight to his palate, although he didn't show it. When he finished eating his fish soup, he wanted to ask for more, but he didn't want to flatter Hailey.
  • "Thank you, Hailey, it was delicious."
  • "Not as much as Paulo,"Arturo said, standing up.
  • "Pay no attention to him, Hailey."
  • "Don't worry, Mr. Paulo, if you liked it, that's enough for me."
