Chapter 3

  • Hailey couldn't believe how messy the room had become, pillows on the floor and, worst of all, three used condoms on the floor. She felt disgusted picking them up.
  • She started organizing the room, and after doing so, she sprayed air freshener to make it smell nice. When she finished, she left the room and found Mr. Arturo sitting alone on the couch wearing glasses and typing on his laptop.
  • Hailey began washing the dishes, but her eyes were tired, and she was about to fall asleep.
  • "Excuse me, sir, may I leave now? It's late, and I've done my job," she said without looking him in the eyes.
  • Arturo glanced at her and saw her looking downcast.
  • "10 minutes," he simply replied.
  • She watched as he went into the room and came out in 5 minutes wearing casual clothes "a sweatshirt, sneakers, and a sports shirt.
  • Hailey bit her lip because her boss looked extremely handsome.
  • Arturo was in a bad mood.
  • "Are you planning to stay or what? Hurry up, I don't have all night," he said impatiently.
  • She walked quickly and followed him. They got into the elevator.
  • He could see her tired eyes through the mirror, but he didn't say anything. He just waited for the doors to open since she made him uneasy.
  • He exited first, and then she arrived at the vans with the bodyguards.
  • She went with Luis, the driver, and Arturo in his escorted car.
  • The next day, Rosita woke her up; she was already running late.
  • "Miss, wake up, you're running late," Rosita said.
  • Hailey woke up, but she felt very exhausted.
  • "You didn't sleep well?" Rosita asked.
  • "Mr. Arturo had me working until 1 am," Hailey replied.
  • "What? How is that possible?" Rosita exclaimed.
  • "Don't say anything, Rosita. Give me a moment, I'll shower and go to my duties," Hailey said.
  • "Alright, my dear."
  • "What a terrible night I had, couldn't sleep a damn thing all because of that little girl," Arturo complained.
  • "Don't tell me she keeps you up," Paulo teased.
  • "What nonsense are you talking about, Paulo? Of course not! She's not my type, she's a mess to me. It's just that she irritated me yesterday," Arturo replied.
  • "You make me think bad things, Arturo. Could it be that you like her and you don't want to admit it?" Paulo said seriously.
  • Arturo didn't say anything about it.
  • Hailey approached the dining room and helped Rosita serve breakfast.
  • "Good morning, Rosita," Arturo greeted.
  • "Good morning, Rosita. Good morning, Hailey," Paulo greeted.
  • "Good morning, my children," Rosita greeted them.
  • "Good morning, Mr. Paulo," Hailey replied.
  • "Are you feeling alright? You look pale," Paulo observed.
  • "I'm fine, sir. Enjoy your meal."
  • They left.
  • "Can you believe, Arturo, that you made her work so much yesterday?" Paulo said.
  • "Not that much..."
  • "Well, what will the boss do today?"
  • "Well, as I told you, let's go have a drink."
  • "Alright, that way we can rest well tomorrow."
  • Being the weekend, Paulo and Arturo each found a girl they wanted.
  • Arturo was in the room with his companion, ready to be intimate.
  • The girl started kissing and touching Arturo, but he felt nothing. He imagined seeing Hailey cleaning and cursed himself for it.
  • "What's wrong, honey? Don't you like it?" the girl asked, confused.
  • "It's best if you leave," he said, moving away from her.
  • "Really? All this for nothing?"
  • "Please, just go."
  • The girl left, very upset, making a loud noise when she closed the door.
  • Arturo punched the wall; he was very angry.
  • He poured himself a drink; he didn't want to disturb Paulo; he deserved his rest.
  • After a few minutes, he arrived at the mansion.
  • He went to the bar next to the kitchen, poured himself a drink, and for reasons he doesn't understand, he approached Hailey's room but didn't see her.
  • Which is strange, he was going to go to her room but felt intrigued to know where she is, or maybe he couldn't bear his humiliation and left.
  • He went to several areas until he found her in the library with a book on her chest, fast asleep.
  • He approached her and observed her face, her small angelic face.
  • He set the book aside and couldn't help but look at her legs.
  • He carried her in his arms and took her to the room, laid her down, but she, still asleep, grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
  • Being so close to her, he kissed her, but then pulled away, feeling angry.
  • He left the room, went in search of the whiskey bottle, and took it to his room.
  • Hailey woke up to the sound of the alarm that Rosita set.
  • She didn't understand how she ended up in her bed, she only remembers being in the library.
  • Rosita tells Hailey that she has to go to Arturo's apartment because, being the weekend, he probably brought a girl and everything is a mess.
  • Although Hailey didn't want to, she had to do it, after all, it's her job.
  • Upon arriving, she saw that there was only a dirty whiskey glass, which seemed strange to her.
  • "Surely his room is a mess," she thought as she entered and was surprised to find everything well organized.
  • She only cleaned superficially, swept the floor, cleaned the kitchen, and threw away things from the refrigerator that were no longer good.
  • When the door opened, she felt a chill run through her body.
  • She turned around and it was Arturo.
  • "Good morning, Mr. Arturo!" she greeted.
  • He didn't greet her, but instead said right away, "Prepare lunch."
  • "Excuse me, Mr. Arturo, but I don't know how to cook very well. The chef will prepare lunch. Can I call him?"
  • "Are you deaf or what? I gave you an order, obey quickly because a friend will come."
  • Hailey turned around, rolled her eyes, and muttered under her breath, "Idiot."
  • "What did you say?" he said, sounding very annoyed.
  • "Nothing, sir," her heart was pounding with fear.
  • She went to prepare lunch until the doorbell rang.
  • It was a beautiful woman, each time a different one.
  • "Handsome, how nice to see you," the woman greeted shamelessly.
  • "How I wish she would look at me like that, well, in a friendly way, but she just hates me," Hailey thought to herself.
  • When lunch was ready, I told my boss, "Sir, can I serve now?"
  • "Are you hungry, beautiful?" he asked the woman.
  • "Yes, daddy, and very hungry, but for you," she replied, all flirtatious.
  • When I saw them, they got up and went to the bedroom. I didn't say a word, but I was very, very angry.
  • And again, those damn moans that I hate to hear, so I start cleaning the kitchen, and finally, after half an hour, they come out.
  • "Sir, can I serve lunch?" she said, not looking him in the eyes.
  • "No! We will go to a prestigious restaurant to eat," Arturo replied arrogantly.
  • Seriously, you damn miserable person, Hailey thought to herself.
  • "Clean my room," he ordered and left.
  • Upon arriving at the mansion, Hailey said goodbye to Luis and went to her room, took a bath to relax after so much stress.
  • Rosita informed her that they are paying the salary.
  • Hailey put on a sunflower dress that Paulo gave her, knocked on the office door, and heard a voice say, "Come in."
  • Upon entering, it was Paulo, and luckily so.
  • "Hello, Mr. Paulo, how are you?" she greeted with a smile.
  • "I'm good, Hailey. Take a seat, you look very beautiful."
  • "Thank you very much, sir."
  • "When will you stop calling me sir?"
  • "Well, it will be when I'm at your level or out of respect for age."
  • "You offend me," he said, smiling.
  • "Don't misunderstand, sir, I apologize."
  • "Tell me, how do you feel working here?" Paulo asked calmly.
  • "Well, to be honest, neither good nor bad, sir, but I am very grateful," Hailey replied.
  • "Take it, Hailey, it's your salary," Paulo handed her the money.
  • "Wow, sir, it's quite a lot!" she exclaimed, amazed.
  • "No, that's what you deserve. The extra is for cleaning Arturo's apartment," Paulo explained.
  • "I didn't know that! Thank you, Hailey said as she took half of her salary. "Here, sir, I don't know how much what I buy for myself is worth, but I want to pay for it little by little."
  • "You are a disobedient girl, Hailey. It was a gift for you," Paulo insisted.
  • "You have already done so much for me. Please, I feel more at ease and useful if I receive the money," Hailey insisted.
  • "Alright, girl," Paulo finally agreed.
  • Hailey smiled.
  • "What are you planning to do this afternoon, Hailey?" Paulo asked, intrigued.
  • "I want to explore a bit, sir Paulo, walk around and, well, think a little," Hailey replied.
  • "Alright, girl, if you need the driver, you can take him with you," Paulo offered.
  • "Actually, it's his day off too, and he will accompany me. I'll be fine," Hailey assured him.
  • "Have fun," Paulo said.
  • Hailey left and headed to the other side of the mansion where the security guards stay.
  • They both walked, reaching the gate to leave the mansion. Hailey laughed a lot at Luis' jokes, but her smile disappeared when she saw Arturo.
